I just love this time of year. Fall is definitely my favorite season. It is so nice not to have a 120 degree heat index everyday, and I love the trees when they start changing their colors and the leaves start falling. We are staying at our in-law's while we are in the process of selling our house and looking for a new one. She has a wrap around porch with a swing on it. It is so nice to sit out there every night. I've decided my next house will definitely have to have a porch with a swing on it.
We have been so busy lately. It gets this way every fall and every year I say I am going to tone it down some, but it never happens. In addition to working and going to school (me), my oldest is working, going to school, and playing football. That means two games a week because he is on the JV and the varsity teams. Six more weeks and he will be driving. I don't know if that will be a good thing or a bad thing. I won't be stressed out from all the running around as much, but I will be stressed from all the worrying about him being on the road.
My youngest is doing Taekwondo so that's another two days a week of activities. We have finally got our house on the market. No bites yet but I'm hoping it will sell pretty quick so we can start saving for a new home.
I have an exam and an essay due at the same time this Friday so I have been cramming like crazy. I guess it keeps me on my toes, but I will have to do something fun and relaxing this weekend after this week is over. It is the beginning of hunting season here so my husband and oldest son will be gone. That should make it a little more peaceful.

Hi, I'm Jennifer and I've posted comments before. I found your blog after searching for Asperger's one day. My youngest son also has Asperger's. I try to read your blog several times a week. I would trade places with you in a minute to be home with my boys, but we just cannot afford to do that. I wish I could drop in too, but I'm in Memphis, so it would be a little far :)
Hi Jennifer from Memphis. Nice to meet you. I think I've read your blog too. It's hard staying home...there's always a bill or a want that makes us wonder if I should return to work and there probably always will be.
They both took Karate but budget sort of took the wind from keeping it going...they had a great time though and had fun being Karate kids for Halloween. What about your kids?
My oldest son used to take Muay Thai (kickboxing) and Jiu Jitsu but football is taking up most of his time now. My youngest is taking Taekwondo now and has just tested for his green belt. He loves it and it's been great for his motor skills.
Jennifer:
I can't speak to your specific situation but for us it has been a good thing. She ellicits information and emotions from him in a gentle way that moms and dads are not always able to do. She also allows him to rationalize some of his behaviors that I might not...for example, he told her the reason he eats his erasers and chews his fingers and fingernails is because his lunch isn't big enough but now that he has started packing his own lunch and making it bigger, that has improved. Truthfully, they identified that ongoing issue, added a sensory break halfway through the day, and whala...his fingernails now get the opportunity to grow. But the counselor allowed him to acknowledge his thoughts on it and gave him an ability to talk about what he thought about the progress. I suppose there are many negative stories out there but I truly think, like all things in life, there are the negatives and the positives. Think the best and expect only the best for him, question them when you don't see it in a gentle-honey-coated way via email or stop in visits, when you have concerns. It's worth checking into for his sake and if after time, tweaking, etc. you don't like what you see or hear, discontinue it. My curiousity makes me want to pry into what is discussed and my insecurities make me wonder what bad things about me he tells her but all and all he has greatly benefited from each and every service. Wish you peace and blessings in your services as we have received in ours. Me
